About the Project

A farm operation acquired a grain elevator system, including a vertical grain leg and ten-bin diverter, for reuse on their property. Lovegreen was brought in to disassemble the structure, transport components, and reinstall it at the new site.

  • Complete disassembly and reassembly of grain handling system
  • Complex rigging, hoisting, and field welding required
  • Involved structural steel fabrication and part tracking
  • High volume of custom structural elements required precise planning

The Problem

The customer needed a qualified partner to relocate their investment without compromising the structural integrity or performance of the equipment.

  • Unique, custom structure with no as-built drawings
  • Required precision tracking of parts during disassembly
  • Outdoor work meant variable weather and schedule risk
  • Customer wanted full control over project pacing and flexibility from partner

The Solution

Lovegreen deployed a field-ready millwright crew with the skills and mindset to work flexibly and creatively on a non-standard project.

  • Created a custom numbering system during disassembly to simplify reassembly
  • Ensured structural elements and bin diverter system were reinstalled identically
  • Used on-site field welding and fabrication to tie in sections
  • Maintained close communication with the customer to adapt to scheduling windows and weather

Specialized Equipment Used:

  • 40-ton boom truck crane
  • 10K 55’ telehandler
  • 80’ man lift with jib
  • 135’ articulated man lift
  • 56’ rough terrain scissor lift
