About the Project
A value-added processor of potatoes partnered with Lovegreen to upgrade a 200-foot conveyance system in its packaging area. The system needed to be installed at a higher elevation than the previous one, requiring precise alignment and structural support, all while maintaining active operations on the plant floor.

The Scope
- Remove and dispose of 200 feet of existing suspended conveyance
- Install 200 feet of new conveyance, suspended 12 feet above the floor and 20 feet below the ceiling
- Complete work in an active, room-temperature packaging area (not a clean room)
- Provide preconstruction support, including an onsite job walk and scope review in October 2023
- Begin prep work with 2 millwrights installing hangers and midsections ahead of plant shutdown
- Deploy a 4-person crew during shutdown to demo the incline conveyor and downstream section, install the new system at a higher elevation, and tie in the decline conveyor
- Ensure all conveyors are properly anchored, leveled, and set to the correct height
- Support minor field modifications as needed in collaboration with plant personnel
- Maintain strict adherence to plant safety requirements, including PPE and safe operation of forklifts and scissor lifts around employees
The Result
- Lovegreen completed the work safely and efficiently while navigating live operations on the production floor
- The team maintained a clean, organized jobsite and took extreme care to avoid disruption
- The new conveyance system was installed on time, on budget, and to spec, including elevation, level, and tie-in points
